The Whistleblower Protection Directive was passed by the EU in 2019. Since then, a lot has happened and the framework regarding internal control and corporate governance has become more rigorous. In the light of current and anticipated legal frameworks an effective system for reporting wrongdoing is necessary for ESG compliance.
