Sustainability
A never-ending challenge.
Being a sustainable partner and workplace is a large and important part of our business plan and for us at Delphi it is about an approach that permeates our entire business.
Thinking sustainably means that everything we do is characterised by competence, thoughtfulness and responsibility for our clients, our employees and the world around us. As a result, our approach is to constantly think proactively and develop our work so that our use of resources is as efficient as possible, whether that is minimising our environmental impact or striving to be the most attractive place to work. Our vision is to take responsibility for our employees, our fellow human beings and the environment in order to make our contribution to creating a better society and a better environment. This endeavor is part of our daily work and is constantly ongoing.
Naturally a high priority
We strive to deliver sustainable legal advice and consultation to our clients. Through our activities, we aim to increase equality and diversity in society, to support the vulnerable and those in need through our expertise and commitment, and to minimise our negative impact on our planet, climate and environment. Our people are our most important asset, enabling us to deliver high quality advice to our clients. That is why we are committed to ensuring that they have the very best conditions to create a good work-life balance.
The Global Goals and our commitment
We take into account Agenda 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals in our operations and in all aspects of our strategic sustainability work. We analyse our internal strengths and weaknesses in environmental, social and economic sustainability. We also analyse our external opportunities to maximise the positive impact of our sustainability work and the external threats that could harm our work. Based on these analyses and the demands and expectations of our stakeholders, we have identified six goals to which we have a particularly strong connection and the greatest opportunity to make a difference.
Gender equality.
Although the proportion of women in senior positions in the legal profession is increasing, there is still an overwhelmingly majority of men who are partners in the larger commercial law firms today. On average, just under two in ten partners are women. At the same time, more women than men are studying and graduating from law schools. At Delphi, we actively work on gender equality issues and have been doing so for several years in order to even out gender differences. We want to create a sustainable and attractive workplace for current and future employees. Gender equality is not only an obvious issue of fairness, but also essential for the success of both us and our clients.
Decent work and
economic growth.
Our employees are our most important focus because they are the ones who enable us to deliver high quality advice to our clients. That is why it is important for us to be a workplace where our people thrive, evolve and are challenged. We believe that good results are achieved if our employees are allowed to grow in their professional role, participate and influence as well as being given the space to be themselves. We drive development forward and challenge each other, our clients and the industry with the best deal in mind.
Reduced inequalities.
Delphi strives for diversity among its employees and for the workplace to reflect the multicultural society that Sweden is today. For us, it goes without saying that diversity not only enriches and creates development opportunities for our business, but also gives us competitive advantages and a more innovative and open working environment. This means, among other things, that we should see, understand and value the skills and differences of different individuals. Diversity also enables us to better serve our clients, through different approaches and insights, but also through our employees language skills and cultural understanding.
Responsible
consumption
& production.
Thinking sustainably means that everything we do is characterised by competence, thoughtfulness and responsibility for our clients, employees and the world around us. As a result, our approach is to constantly think proactively and develop our work so that our use of resources is as efficient as possible. Based on the idea that it is possible to create both a small and a big change, no sustainability action is too small or insignificant. Our environmental impact as a service-producing company is essentially made up of travel and transport, purchases of goods and services, waste, energy use and paper consumption.
Climate action.
Our environmental work is about minimising our negative impact on the world around us and our planet. This is characterised by a constant quest to find new ways and means of managing our resources as respectfully and responsibly as possible. Being a sustainable workplace is part of our business plan and for us at Delphi it is about an approach that permeates our entire business.
Peace, justice
and strong
institutions.
Peaceful and inclusive societies are close to our hearts and very close to our core business. Inclusive and just institutions are absolutely essential for sound governance free from conflict, corruption and violence. All people should be equal before the law, have equal access to justice and equal opportunities to influence decision-making. Peaceful and inclusive societies are the very foundation of sustainable development. We always strive to promote this.
Sustainability report
Our sustainibility report aims to summerise our sustainability work in a single document. To make it easier for our clients and future clients, current and future employees, partners and stakeholder to find and review our sustainability work.
